Finally a face mask designed with beards in mind!
Easy Masks are made by Hariss & Covington, a family owned business that has been making knitwear in High Point, North Carolina, for over 100 years. When the Coronavirus pandemic hit, they partnered with EHOP Health to turn their skills to creating a durable, comfortable, easy-to-use protective mask that could help people safely get back to work.
During the research & development stage, they tested each of their prototypes for ease of wear, comfort and durability. But none passed muster for Justin, one of their employees who has a full, glorious beard -- that is, until they came up with the Easy Mask design.
Easy Masks have recently upgraded their design make them more lightweight and comfortable by using cooler-to-the-touch nylon fiber, currently stocked in black.
Filtration testing on a single layer of Easy Masks’ fabric shows an average overall filtration efficiency of 63% for particles ranging from 0.3 to 10 microns in diameter. Each Easy Mask is made with a double layer of knit fabric, with a pocket to hold a non-woven filtration insert for those who desire an additional layer of protection. Easy Masks are manufactured with plenty of stretch in the trim and ear loops to fit snugly but comfortably around your face. They will not slip down or fall off, and you can stretch out the ear loops and trim to provide a fit that is secure but not too tight.
Easy Masks are sold in packs of two, so you can wash one and wear one. Each pack includes one flexible aluminum nose bridge which can be inserted into a sleeve knit into the mask for a more secure fit.
To insert the nose bridge:
- Turn mask inside-out
- Gently insert nose bridge through woven channel along top border
- Holding one end of nose bridge, turn mask right side out
- Fold mask top edge so that nose bridge is in the outer fabric layer for best seal
